The addition of accent marks is all it takes for the meaning of this album’s title to be transformed from a reflection of the past into a suggestion of new beginnings, a pointer toward the future. The word résumé encapsulates all that I’ve done thus far, but to resume implies something else altogether: it best describes the state of my life as I leave America to relocate to Europe once again.
My last ten years in New York City have brought me great inspiration as well as new friends and colleagues from all over the world. The Big Apple has given me a sense of who I am as an artist, rediscovering my Scandinavian roots. Now is the time for me to bring my knowledge back to my home and to collaborate with musicians from both sides of the Atlantic, to present what I have learned and discover where I am headed in the future. In the music of Résumé the two words become one: present and past.
I hope you will enjoy…
